Education: Ed.D. in Education from Texas Tech University and a Master’s of Education in Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Wesleyan University.


It is a true honor to serve as the Principal of Bluebonnet Trail Elementary. I bring over 20 years of experience in education, having served in a variety of roles that include teaching, campus administration from assistant principal to principal, and district-level experience. 

My journey in education is deeply rooted in my belief that all children deserve access to excellent schools, caring adults, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

At BTE, I am committed to building a strong school culture grounded in high expectations, meaningful relationships, and a deep respect for every child and family. I believe that when schools and families work together, we can achieve incredible things for our students.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. I look forward to partnering with you this year and getting to know each of our amazing BTE families.

Assistant Principal Dr. Lisa Baum

Education:

My mission as an educator is to create a school environment where every child feels safe, welcomed, and valued. I am passionate about supporting a culture of inclusion and belonging for all students and families, and I work every day to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to encourage every child to feel confident, capable, and successful, and I deeply believe in partnering with families to ensure all students thrive and reach their full potential.

I hold a Bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State), a Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Walden University.

Outside of school, I’ve been married to my husband, Daniel Baum, the Fire Chief for the City of Taylor, for 25 years. We have four amazing children:

  • Jacob (23) – Works at Samsung Taylor and is married to Emily

  • Kaitlyn (20) – In Pharmacy School at the University of Tyler

  • Madeline (16) – A Junior at Taylor High School and a proud member of the Color Guard

  • Asher (5) – A kindergartner at TH Johnson who loves baseball

I love spending time with my family, traveling, and especially cruising.  I also enjoy collecting rocks, visiting geological wonders like the Grand Canyon and Arches National Park, exploring state parks, and relaxing at the beach. 

I’m excited for another year of learning and growth, and I look forward to building strong, lasting relationships with students, staff, and families.
